As a leader in Home Care, are you working on transforming your organization?

Are you looking for strategies and insights to grow your business and get ready for the future?

I’ve just finished reading an amazing book by my friend and professional speaking colleague, Dr. Nido Qubein. “Extraordinary Transformation: An Entrepreneurial Blueprint for Leaders Who Seek Transformational Growth of Any Organization” is a detailed memoir of how Nido transformed a small, sleepy college in High Point, North Carolina into America’s “Premier Life Skills University.”

I have known Nido for 35 years through our National Speakers Association where he was President, Founder of our NSA Foundation, a member of the CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame, and a recipient of The Cavett – the Heisman Trophy of professional speaking. I was fully aware of his amazing ability as a communicator, as a leader, and as a serial entrepreneur. What I learned from this book is how he applied his life skills, his professional skills, and his leadership skills to transform High Point University.

As I was reading, I was thinking about how the principles he described apply to our work in growing Home Care companies. Here some “Nido-isms” or words of wisdom from this book that may help you as you work to transform your Home Care company into the company you want to be.

Strategies and Insights on Leadership from Dr. Nido Qubein

  • “If you want be a great person, you must first walk side by side, hand in hand with great people.”
  • “Who you spend time with is who you become.”
  • “The highest order of leadership is to tell the truth. People value authenticity ahead of charisma.”
  • “Managers change behavior. Leaders change minds.”
  • “If there is one solitary word that most encapsulates the vision and mission that would drive us for the next decade, it is the word ‘extraordinary’ “.
  • “We couldn’t just talk about excellence or simply teach it. We had to embody excellence.”
  • “We had to paint the picture, let them actually feel it. Make it come alive. – ‘Facts tell, emotions sell’.”
  • “This wasn’t about plans. It was about visioning transformation and impact. We are a journey to reside in the extraordinary.”
  • “Having a personal vision sets up a creative tension between the world as it is and the world as you would like it to be. That creative tension provides fuel and leads you onto a path of accomplishment and fulfillment.”

Visioning the Transformation of your Home Care Company

If you could wave your magic wand and make your home care company anything you want it to be what would it look like. Having worked for our three decades with Home Care Leaders who want to grow their business, and with leaders who want to get ready for the future. I’ve developed a process to help you get from where you are to where you want to be.

As I read Dr. Qubein’s book, he brought my process to life with a short description:

“To effect progress and growth in any organization, you need four essential ingredients:

  1. A Clear Vision
  2. Solid Strategies
  3. Practical Systems
  4. Consistent Execution.

If you would like someone to walk side by side with you and help you develop a Clear Vision, Solid Strategies, Practical Systems, or Consistent Execution, give me a call. I’d love to have a conversation with you about our process for Strategic Business Coaching.
