The September 14, 2009 edition of Time Magazine had a full page article on private duty home care, featuring Home Instead Senior Care, Comfort Keepers, and the National Private Duty Association.

The story began with some history of Paul Hogan how he spent time with his grandmother in his mother’s home in Omaha, NE. He asked himself what families did that didn’t have kin available to take care of the elders. Providing that answer propelled him to create Home Instead Senior Care and turn it into an international franchise company with 874 locations around the world generating $738 million in revenue.

Articles like this in national media give our industry the public relations push we need to create greater awareness on the part of consumers, families, and potential referral sources.
