I’ve been thinking a lot …about The Rule of Three’s

This morning, I was up early, and sitting in the dark pondering. I’m finding that if I take some time each morning to sit quietly in the dark with a cup of coffee … no screens, no books, no podcasts … just sitting quietly and pondering, I get some amazing insights.

I call this “Wisdom from Solitude.” It’s a time to take what we know and turn in into actional wisdom.

This morning I was mentally reviewing the process for Home Care companies to find their ideal clients. I began to think about organizing information into groups of three. And that caused me to remember “The Rule of Threes.”

Why Three?

The premise of the Rule of Three is that things arranged in threes are more satisfying, effective, and memorable than other numbers because three is the smallest number needed to create a pattern. This principle is used across communication fields like storytelling, public speaking, and advertising to make information easier to process, remember, and present as complete and balanced.

Think about all of the threes in your world.

The three little pigs
We three kings …
Snap, Crackle, Pop!
Holy, Holy, Holy
Blood, sweat, and tears
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Lights, camera, action
