I’ve been thinking about Rewiring

That’s my theme for 2025.

Four decades ago, I was invited to lead a strategic planning process for my first Home Care company. The Visiting Nurse Association of Venango County in Franklin, PA hired me to work with their Board of Directors and leadership team to develop their strategy for growth. That led me into working with healthcare at home, including Home Health, Hospice, and Private Duty Home Care.

Two decades ago, my son, Jason Tweed, and I started Leading Home Care … a Tweed Jeffries company, to work with Home Care companies that want to grow and with Home Care leaders who want to get ready for the future.

One decade ago … actually 12 years … my wife and business partner, Elizabeth Jeffries, and I started the Home Care CEO Forum and introduced the Mastermind Concept to Home Care and started the first ever Home Care Mastermind Group.

Two years ago … January of 2023 … we sold the Home Care CEO Forum to our friend, colleague, and Mastermind Member, Jensen Jones.

Two weeks ago … As part of the sale of the business, Jensen and I had a two-year agreement for me to continue leading Mastermind Groups, to provide strategic advise to the business, and to support his marketing and sales process. That agreement has been completed, and we have a new agreement where I will step away from leading the Top 5% Mastermind Group, and I will continue to support the CEO Forum.

Rewiring … NOT retiring

While I will continue to work with Jensen Jones and the Home Care CEO Forum to promote the business, provide advisory services, and attract new members, my role has changed dramatically. I am not as actively involved in the business as I was.

In thinking about what I will do in the next chapter, I read an article sent by a friend and colleague called … “I’m NOT Retiring, I’m Rewiring.” As I captured the essence of what the author was saying to me, I said “That’s It! I’m not retiring, I’m rewiring.”

I will continue working in Home Care and serving agencies, associations, and the industry for the foreseeable future.

2025 is a Major Rewiring

The year 2025 has an “ing” on the end. It will be a work in progress as I rewire the next chapter on my work in Home Care. After getting feedback and insights from my trusted advisors, I am moving toward serving the Home Care industry in three ways:

Industry Researcher – I will continue doing research in the Home Care industry to gather facts, data, information, and insights to help leaders make better strategic business decisions. I’m just now wrapping up the 2025 Future of Home Care Study which we have conducted, and the results will be published shortly by AxisCare.

Board Member – Over the last four decades, I have served on the Boards of Directors of five major home health and home care organizations. I will continue to serve on Boards of Directors and Boards of Advisors. I just started a new role as Chair of the Board of Advisors of a new startup company that will make a significant impact on the Home Industry.

Strategic Advisor – I’m shifting this role from Strategic Business Coach to Strategic Advisor. While the difference may be subtle, I will be concentrating on advisory services to Home Care company owners at top tier of our industry. I am currently advising two company owners; one who is launching a new line of business, and one who is making a significant acquisition.

As you move forward to grow your business, if you find that you would benefit from industry research, having a new Board Member, or working with a Strategic Advisor, let’s talk. No obligation. Just a conversation to catch up, and perhaps to see of there’s a fit for us to work together.
